GEOGRAPHY

Rize is highly broken land area as far as surfaces goes and is bordered by twin to east,Erzurum and Bayburt to the south. Trabzon to the west, with the Black Sea to its North.there are almost no narrow valleys opening to the sea.Among the highest peaks is Kaçkar Mountain (3937 m) which is snow-covered year round.The formation of the kaçkar mountains lands itself wonderfully to winter sports as well as tracking and climbing.For nature and cross-sountry,skiing the Kaçkar Mountain are a naturall wonderland.

The land of Rize is cut through by many streams and rivers making their way from down from Anatolia to the Black Sea, The major water courses are Findiklidere,Büyükdere,Pazar deresi, Karadere,iyidere and Fırtyna Deresi.Lakes in area glacial in foration and the major crater lakes in the Kaçkar Mountains are in the regions of Çamlıhemşin and İkizdere.
